Saying Goodbye.....

After what seemed like the longest wait, my sister and nephew have been and gone.  The week that they were here was so much fun, we went to the beach, a few markets, a few parks, a few wineries, swam in our little pool everyday and just relaxed.  Marley seemed to grow everyday and loved playing with the kids and they loved playing with him.  We got lots of great photos which are now stuck all over the caravan!  I was so sad to see them go, I sat and watched the plane leave and then started to cry and I think I cried nearly all day.  I didn't realise how much I missed everyone until then.  Western Australia feels so far away from home. I'm sure once we get moving again and start seeing new things the feelings will subside. But today I do feel abit lonely, Roh has gone to work and Kelly has gone to sea, but I have the kids to keep me busy.

The weather has cooled today after what has been Perths hottest week for 40 years, 40 degrees plus everyday.  So glad we have an air con in the caravan.  We have also experienced the worst thunderstorm in 26years.  It went from 2 in the morning until around 8am.  Constant thunder and lightening, it was a little scarey but the caravan stood up well against the elements.

We are still working on our next adventure, still not sure which direction we'll take.

The start of a New Year.....

Third entry after 2 months of nothing..... perhaps i'm not too good at this blogging thing!!!  Anyway, Christmas, New years and My birthday have all come and gone.  Half way through January already.  Today Fin and Roh went to the cricket in Perth and it was HOT!  Lucky the game ended early and they were back by 3.30 in the arvo.  The girls and I had what Kota likes to call 'a Girls Day'.  We went to the market, plaza, beach and park.  With a trip to the lolly shop, animal farm and jumping castle added in the mix. Now everyone is in bed and I am enjoying what is known as the 'Fremantle Doctor' which is the wind that blows in at about 5pm every evening to cool everything and everyone down.

Short summary of the past 2 months.......
  • Roh worked in 6 different Woolys and a Big W leading up to christmas.
  • I didn't have a car for about 7 weeks
  • Went to the Perth Zoo with Belinda and the kids (massive day, 2 trains, 1 ferry and a bus)
  • Did a tour of the Perth Mint (Had a special coin made)
  • Saw the Bell Tower and went inside but just missed the big bells ringing.
  • Had lovely big group dinners (it was like Big Brother, Roh and I and Kids, Darren, Belinda and Kids and Kelly)
  • Went and saw a Movie with Belinda and Kelly.
  • Did alot of walking to local supermarket, duck pond and park.
  • I started bike riding every morning, starting at 3kms and have build up to 13kms.
  • Caught up with Heidi, who was working in Perth and managed to fit lunch in with the kids and I before she flew back to Melbourne.
  • Kids have all grown about 2cms
  • Fin passed the Grade 1 test we gave him (big sigh of relief, that I am doing an okay job at homeschooling)
  • Got a 12ft above ground shallow pool (with the help of a few vouchers)
  • Made a gingerbread house with the kids (they decorated it)
  • Had a delicious roast for christmas dinner.
  • Went into Perth central and looked at the christmas tree and decorations
  • Looked at the Mandurah Christmas lights on the canals. (Better view by boat)
  • Invested in some lego since we left ours all in storage, the kids are enjoying creating different things.
  • Went to the Perth Museum with Kelly and the kids (Indi liked the Dinosaur - 'Roar')
  • Had a look at Fremantle Market
  • Bought a Dragonfly window crystal at Mandurah market.
  • Roh got some Electrical work (with a van) so hello freedom.
We will be hanging around Port Kennedy for a little longer.  Which is great because it is giving Jess the chance to come and visit with Marley.  I can't wait to see them.  It was very different having Christmas without any extended family.  The kids are really excited to see their little cousin who was just brand new the last time they saw him and now he is crawling.

Well with no plans of returning to Victoria anytime soon, the Adventure continues into 2012.....

Stay tuned!!!
